Virtual New Years Races
If you’re still trying to get a run in to celebrate the end of 2021, (which let’s face it, wasn’t any better than 2020,) you have a couple of great virtual options available to you. Check them out below.
The Ball Drop Half Marathon/10k/5k is a virtual race option brought to you by Why Racing Events, and not only is the swag great, but it’s a wonderful way to support funding for A Caring Closet, which provides used Durable Medical Equipment at no cost to those in need in Clark County.
All participants of this race will receive a “Survived 2021 ‘Year in Review’ long sleeve tech shirt, as well as a medal and a bib that recounts all the highs and lows of the year. There’s also a fun post-race virtual happy hour and awards ceremony in addition to some other fun things.
Simply run this race anywhere anytime between December 31st and January 9th. There will be a packet pickup offered on December 29th from 10:00AM to 6:00PM at the Why Racing Warehouse (1108 NE 146th Street, Ste J, Vancouver, WA 98685.) Out of town participants will have packets mailed the week of December 26th.
The cost of this race is $39 any of the three distances or you can register for a BEAST bundle if you’d like to participate in more than one event. Run any two of the distances for $59 or do all three for $69. The sky’s the limit!!

Another great option for a virtual race is the F*CK 2021! 5k/10k and the name says it all. Register for this one for the swag alone! I did this event last year when the design featured a large dumpster fire, and this year is even better.. The classic middle finger.
Make no mistake though, this event, hosted by Terrapin Events, also benefits a good cause, in this case the JPM project which will donate local gift cards to front line workers.
All race participants will get a tri-blend t-shirt, a medal, and the typical extras. The cost for this event is $35 for either distance, $70 for a two-person challenge, or $140 for a four-person challenge.
Do this run between December 30th and January 2nd and kick back and pray for a better year ahead.
