If you’re looking for a festive run for the whole family, Jingle Bells Run in Eugene could be a great pick. Race, jog, or walk a 5K or 15K, or team up with family and friends for the three-runner 15K relay. For the kids, there’s a free Rudolph Run and a visit from Santa. Dressing up is encouraged, too, to get in the spirit of the season.
The 5K and 15K courses both start in Maurie Jacobs Park and head south on a bike path along the Willamette River. The 5K course loops back at Skinner Butte Park, while the 15K continues a little farther before crossing the river over the Peter DalFazio Bridge. From there, you’ll stay on the bike path as you head back north for a second river crossing over the Owosso Bike Bridge, before returning to Maurie Jacobs Park for the finish line festivities.
Both courses are mostly flat, with some elevation change in the second mile. You’ll stay on paved bike paths for the majority of the race.
Note that aid stations at this race will only have self-served bottled water, and runners are encouraged to carry the fuel they need. There will be no awards ceremony, but personalized results tickets will be provided, with full results available online as participants finish. Packet pick-up starts at 10:30 on race day.
