Race Preview: 2021 Arctic Circle Turkey Trot (Newport, OR)

The 2021 Arctic Circle Turkey Trot 5k and 10k in Newport takes off at Rogue Brewing on Thanksgiving morning, November 25. The morning starts at 9am with the kids’ half-mile race. The 5k and 10k follow at 9:15. The course for both distances is very flat and very scenic. The 5k is a simple out-and-back heading west towards the jetty, giving participants great views of the Pacific Ocean. The 10k starts the same as the 5k, but doubles its length by turning south past the aquarium and then east on 35th Street towards Idaho Point, before returning the same way to the finish.

Awards will be given to best costume, overall male and female winner for each race, top male and female master (40+)in each race, top male and female grand master (50+)in each race, and ribbon awards will go to the top three finishers in age groups.

Online registration is open through November 23! The cost is $40 for the 10k, $35 for the 5k ($25 for youth age 11 and under), and $8 for the kids’ 1k. (Race day registration adds another $5.) Registration includes entry to the chip timed race, a finisher’s medal, and post race refreshments. Shirts are available to purchase for $15. Proceeds from the race benefits Food Share of Lincoln County.

Early packet pickup is happening on Wednesday, 11/24, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Arctic Circle in Newport. Race day packet pickup & race day registration starts at 8:00 AM.
