Do turkeys ski?
How about Turkey Trot runners?
While I’m still researching the first question, thanks to the Redmond Turkey Trot I know the answer to the second. Yes! All participants in the 5K and 10K events receive a Hoodoo Ski Lift ticket as part of registration. They also get a t-shirt, individual pie, and chance at a large pumpkin pie. All that goodness and a race too.
And about that race…This year the event is moving to Sam Johnson Park. The 5K and 10K routes include combinations of pavement and dirt sections with runners and walkers heading north through the canyon. Participants are encouraged to dress up; the most festive and creative costumes will get awarded pumpkin pie.
Kids are also included in the even through The Brace Place 1K Kids Race. The loop course will be completely within Sam Johnson Park, to ensure easy viewing for family members. Volunteers will be running with the littles as turkeys, and an adult is welcome to run alongside their little one too. All finishers earn a prize from The Brace Place.
Go see all those turkeys run. And let Run Oregon know if you see any turkeys hitting the slopes this winter.
