Autumn in the Pacific Northwest is a beautiful time to get out of your routine and out of the city. The crisp winds and changing leaves beckon runners to come and explore the trails that surround us. And this year there is a new race just waiting to be explored.
Westfir 30K is expanding this year to include a 50K distance option. While the 30K is an out-and-back course, the 50K is a lollipop that takes runners over Cloverpatch and Tire Mountain trails. Each course has major inclines in the first half, which means (you guessed it!) major declines to bring you back to finish line. In fact race directors say you will be “blasting down.” At the end of an ultra-marathon, a blast would be ah-mazing.
Multiple aid stations on the course will provide participants with support multiple points along the way. At the finish line, all participants receive a complimentary meal from Cow Girl Cook’n. The top male and female racers will receive awards and everyone will be entered into raffles for fun prizes.
Come explore the great wide somewhere in Westfir. Your routine will be just fine without you.
