Race Preview: 2021 Cottage Grove Half & 10k (LIVE)

Cottage Grove Half by Oregon Trail Runs: March 13th, 2021

The Cottage Grove Half has become a favorite over that last few years for me. I grew up in the area so running here makes me feel at home. I’ve run both the half and the 10k and both are worth doing! Both races are on a paved path on the Row River Trail. This course is a flat paved trail. It’s a gorgeous trail-head that goes out of town, giving you a nice country peaceful view. The race director has been available to talk to every time I’ve run here. He’s answered all my questions and took the mic at the end and handed out sweet rewards to the top athletes. This race has always felt very well organized with a really nice smaller town feel to it.

Due to current restrictions, this year will look slightly different than years past. The half will not be point to point, it will start and end at Trailhead park. Each race will have a hour slot to self start to help with social distancing. It’ll be a in person, self start out and back for both the 10k and the half. I am thankful to have to opportunity to be able to meet this year, even if it is different.

Packet pick up will be drive through style starting at 7:30 am at Trail Head Park race day morning.
