Race Preview: 2020 Pacific Northwest Virtual Distance Challenge (Oregon Brewery Running Series)

The Oregon Brewery Running Series has done it again! This race organization always knows how to bring on the fun and there’s no better way to kick start Fall than to participate in the October Pacific Northwest Virtual Distance Challenge!

This event is a month long virtual challenge, and the more you run, walk, or hike throughout this month, the more super awesome prizes you’ll earn. In case you weren’t aware, the Oregon Brewery Running Series has been doing great motivating virtual challenges every month, and collectively people have logged nearly 50,000 miles from across the country. This challenge, the FIRST Pacific Northwest Virtual Distance Challenge, looks pretty amazing.

Set a goal for how many miles you want to run, walk, or hike in October, and log as many miles as you can throughout the 31 days of October on Strava to reach your goal. Then come join your fellow runners on October 31st for The Oregon Brewery Running Series 5k at Stickmen Brewing.  Since it’s Halloween, wear a costume! You still have the option to do it virtually if that is your preference. Challenge participants get $5 off their entry to this Oregon Brewery Series Run.

So what do you get? There are several options, depending on what you want. The standard registration, which is $30, will get you a finisher’s medal, a custom race bib, and a commemorative sticker pack. You can add The Challenge tri-blend t-shirt for $20 or the hoodie for $40. The prizes for the challenges are shown in the pictures below and rewards will be distributed after the challenge is complete!

The premium package is $49. This will get you everything from the standard package plus you’ll also get some pretty awesome rewards as you hit your milage goals. If you hit 25% of your goal, you’ll get two “Life is Brewtiful” coasters. 50% of your goal gets you the coasters plus the Virtual Challenge canvas tote. 100% of your goal will get you not only the bragging rights, but also the coasters, the canvas tote, and a custom Miir Stainless Beer Pint.  Again, you can add on the t-shirt for $20 or the hoodie for $40.

There’s also an option to upgrade to the VIP Silver package, which allows you to add on either a Next Level tri-blend unisex t-shirt for a total of $64 or a Next Level unisex hooded sweatshirt for a total of $79.

Lastly, if you want to upgrade to the VIP Gold package, you can get all the goodies AND a Virtual Challenge knit beanie and the Challenge tri-blend t-shirt. This package is $89.

In addition to the above perks, there are local Oregon brewery deals available, such as $5 discounts for tInstagram and Facebook with other runners. Lastly, you can feel good knowing that a portion of the proceeds will go to the #EmergeStronger Community Challenge, which is part of the Oregon Food Bank.
