Update: Run Around the World nearing goal, but you can still sign up

Last week, Matt wrote about the Run Around the World Camaraderie Challenge to raise funds for CDC’s emergency COVID-19 relief, which is sponsored by Nathan SportsMerrell, and Trail Sisters.

Well, as of this weekend, they only have around 6,000 miles to go! At the time of writing this post, there were 1,150 participants signed up, so if you register and log your miles for the cause, they’ll reach the goal even more quickly.

There is a suggested donation of $5, but you can always contribute more. Registered participants can simply submit their distance, and they’re entered into drawings for cool prizes from the sponsoring companies. When you sign up, you’ll also see some options for cool Trail Sisters gear that you can get to help support their employees and business.

What else is cool is that you can see the miles submitted by others. While a lot of runners are able to get outside and run, it’s nice to know there are others still logging miles on the treadmill (misery loves company, right?).

Check it out and sign up today!

I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
