Race Preview: 2020 Alsea Falls Spring Fling Half / 10K / 5K (Monroe)

**GIVEN THE UNCERTAINTY OF THINGS DUE TO COVID-19, PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE PREVIEWING THIS RACE AS IF IT IS STILL OCCURRING . WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO FOLLOW THESE RACES ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR THEIR WEBSITES TO DETERMINE IF CHANGES ARE BEING MADE**

The Alsea Falls Spring Fling, hosted by our friends at Oregon Trail Runs, is such a fun, low-key event with spectacular trails, great support, and a decent challenge. The 2020 event will be held on Saturday, March 21st at the beautiful Alsea Falls (~1 hour from Corvallis and/or Eugene). You can choose from a half marathon, 10K, or 5K, all on dreamy singletrack in the lush forest around Alsea Falls. The half marathon will be a lollipop course (featuring ~2,000 feet of elevation), and the 10k and 5k are each out and backs. You can see an elevation profile and interactive course map on the Oregon Trail Runs website.

This event is cupless, so be sure to bring your own vessel for hydrating! As always, there will be a post-race BBQ, so be sure to stick around, enjoy some hot food and cold beer, and cheer on the other racers coming across the finish line!

The top two male and female half marathoners will receive 50% off entry to the Mary’s Peak 50miler/50k/25k event in June and all other category winners will receive 50% off any Oregon Trail Runs event.

I ran this race 2 years ago and you can read my race recap here and fellow blogger Robyn’s recap from 2019 here! I loved this race and hope you can make it to see the beauty of these trails for yourself!
