Race Preview: 2020 My Muddy Valentine (Tualatin)

It’s time to start planning for that first mud-filled race of 2020. My Muddy Valentine is an Obstacle Course Race (OCR) that anyone from a first-timer to a veteran can enjoy. This OCR includes 20+ obstacles over a 5K distance and you can be sure that mud will be involved. If a 5K isn’t enough mud for you, My Muddy Valentine has added a 10K this year – which is 2 loops around the course on Lee Farms.

First timers, this event is a great introduction to OCR, as you are not required to complete each obstacle and it’s OK to help each other along the way. Veteran OCR competitors can choose from one of 2 elite waves to test their skill and speed. Kids can even try out some obstacles in the untimed 1.1 mile Kids Race (for those 14 and under.)  This is a Valentine’s weekend race, so you might want to convince your other half to join you, as there is special pricing for couples. And, what’s more romantic than a little romp in the mud with your sweetie? 😉

All participants will receive a t-shirt, finisher medal, and a free beer or cider (21 and over, of course!) Parking at Lee Farms is limited, so there will be a shuttle to and from the property.

As this is a February event, it probably won’t be warm out, but afterwards there will be multiple bonfires to warm you. There are also dry changing rooms and the option of a hot shower (for an additional $5.) Since last year on race day there was snow, you might want to seriously consider that hot shower option! There will be vendors, live music, food, games, and drinks at the post-race party – so don’t miss out! Yes, February may sound like a crazy time to run an OCR, but I’ve run this event multiple times and there have been more decent weather days than bad. And, it’s a ton of fun! I recommend you grab some friends (or your Valentine) and register for this crazy, mud-filled event.
