Race Preview: The PRC Winter 5k Series is Almost Here!!
There’s snow in the forecast and I’ve had to start scraping ice off my car in the morning, so maybe it’s time to face the fact that winter is settling in. This is a hard season for many runners, because the motivation to get outside starts to wane and there really aren’t a whole lot of race opportunities in Portland. This is just one reason you need to do the PRC Winter 5k Series.
For more reasons, you can read my previous post that highlights why this race is awesome, but in case you don’t have the time for that, here’s the shorter version.
There are three 5ks in the series, (one in December, one in January, and one in February) and all of them are at Portland Running Company in Beaverton. All follow the same route, and the last one is a predictor race, which mean no timing devices are allowed. The goal is for you to predict what your finish time will be, and if you’ve run the two previous month’s races, you might have some idea as to how long it will take.
After each of the races, warm up inside the Portland Running Company store and stay for some fun! This is a Run With Paula event, so you know it’s going to be fun! There will be treats and raffles and you’ll have access to the store in case you’re in need of any new gear.
Sign up for one or all three for a better deal but do it soon! This race is limited to 500 registrants and the first one will be here on December 14th!!
