Have you started your 2020 list of races yet? I know I have and Cascade Half is on my list! Cascade also has a 10k and 2 miler for those not interested in the half marathon! This race interests me because I love getting in a good race to start my year! It ‘s not only fun, but it helps me gauge where my fitness level is going into a new year. This race is appealing because it’s fast and flat out on beautiful country roads.
Cascade Half does have a 2.5 hour limit but good news, they offer an hour early start for those expecting to take longer. This make for a great option for those signing up for the first time and are worried about time. It’s also great for walkers with half marathon goals.
Everyone doing the half and 10k will receive a long sleeve shirt and finishers will receive a medal at the finish line. Awards will be given to overall male and female and masters winners. Awards will also go three-deep in age group winners as well. Cascade is great about giving lots of random prized too because of all the generous sponsors.
Packet pick up is simple! Just show up at Cascade High School (10226 Marion Rd SE Turner, OR 97392) before you race Sunday. The race starts and ends at the High School making the whole process easy! The High School will be warm and available before and after the race so everyone is comfortable and to stay out of winter Oregon weather while standing around. The cafeteria will be serving hot soup and much more after the race, while the awards are announced.
