FITS Socks are a perfect stocking stuffer!

The thing about socks is, you don’t always notice them unless they are bad. “Bad” has many definitions when it comes to socks, as it could mean that they itch, that they don’t wick well, or maybe there’s an annoying seam on them that could potentially give you a blister. You can really pay attention to socks when they suck, but not so much when they don’t. And that’s usually the mark of a good sock, because you’ve forgotten all about them and there are more important things to think about on a run.

Nikki: This weekend, I got to try FITS Socks. They are made in the USA with Merino Wool. Merino Wool is magic in my experience. It keeps you dry and warm but doesn’t feel like “old-school” wool which is usually heavy and itchy. There’s nothing better than the first time you try on good quality socks, and the FITS socks, as expected, did not disappoint. I slipped on the Light Runner socks in the low style and they felt like Heaven from the start, especially in the toes, which is really no surprise since they are designed with high-impact cushioning at the toe cup and heel lock, and they have a full contact cuff. I took them on a short and easy 3 mile run followed by a cardio class at a new gym. Low cut socks can be a gamble because some like to slip down to the bottom of your shoes, which is really the absolutely worst when you’re stuck in the middle of your run. There was absolutely no slippage from the FITS Socks due to the patented Full Contact Fit design that gives your foot a secure hold. They are meant to mold to your foot and leg, and though there is graduated compression throughout the socks, they don’t feel overly tight.

In addition to the comfortable “hug” of the socks, they are very breathable. The stretchy lightweight fabric keeps them extremely light on your feet, but they are also durable. The narrow welt band holds up good and steady, and they perform well if you do.

The day after the 3 mile run, I took another pair of FITS socks on an 11 miler. They disappeared from my thoughts, as good socks do. Due to the Omega Performance yarn, they were comfy and warm throughout the run and they stayed dry without heating up my feet. This yarn has been designed to breathe in any condition, so they don’t do too shabby in November.

So the next time you’re looking for some running socks, check out FITS Socks. There’s no reason your feet should have to suffer through your next run.

Erik: For the past week and a half I’ve had the pleasure of testing out the FITS Socks Micro Light Runner in both the Low Cut and Mini Crew variations, and I have to say, heck yes! Oddly enough I’ve never owned a pair of Merino wool socks (except for snowboarding) and as it’s getting colder in Oregon I am grateful for these. After a longer run in the colder temperatures my feet get sweaty and cold which as we all know can be quite uncomfortable. The Micro Light socks are definitely thicker than I’m accustomed to but not noticeable while running. You still have the toe and heel cushioning keeping your feet cozy and comfortable with just the right amount of compression.

On my first run with the Mini Crew variation, I had the unfortunate misstep into a giant puddle which in the past has left me hating the rest of my run. In this case, I finished it out and by the time I got home, yes, my right foot was still soaked, but I didn’t have a frozen foot that I needed to immediately throw in a hot bath to regain feeling. While I don’t intentionally run through puddles on my runs (if I can help it), it is nice knowing that a misstep isn’t going to give you a minor case of frostbite. With the added cushioning and the Merino wool blend (65% Super-fine Merino wool, 27% nylon, 6% polyester, 2% lycra for the Mini Crew and 73% Super-fine Merino wool, 21% nylon, 4% polyester, 2% lycra for the Low cut) these socks are perfect for colder and wetter runs.

If you’ve been looking for a good cold weather sock you should definitely be looking at the FITS Socks Micro Light options. At $17.99-$19.99 a pair depending on the cut, you’re not going to break the bank and your feet will thank you!
