Race Preview: 2020 Deschutes River Half Marathon & 2.020 mile Run/Walk (Maupin)

The 2020 Deschutes River Half Marathon & 2.020 Mile Run/Walk, hosted by XDog Events, in Maupin is a great way to spend your New Year’s morning. Getting the first run of the year done with a scenic half marathon (or the 2.020 mile run / walk) will shake off the past year and, ideally, any lingering side effects from the night before!

The half marathon will begin at 9:00AM at the BLM access road – there will be no shuttle this year, as the course is an out-and-back, starting and finishing at Imperial River Company. There will be 5 aid stations, featuring water, Gatorade, and pretzels. Drop bags will be available at the turnaround point. All finishers will receive a shirt and medal. The half marathon has a 5-hour cutoff.

The 2.020 mile run/walk takes off at 10:00AM (also at the Imperial River Company) and is also an out-and-back.

There will be awards for the top overall and division finishers for both events given at the post-race festivities at Imperial River Company! They also have lodging available if you want to stay right at the start/finish line the night before or the night after to extend the holiday and celebrate your first race of the year!
