2019 Races on our Radar #44: November 19

Welcome to the latest post in the 2019 Races on our Radar series, where we report on cool and/or low-cost races, group runs, price and registration deadlines, and other things we think you should know about it.

We would like to you hear from you, too. If you’re in the know on a race that you think others need to check out, let us know via email, twitter, or facebook!

This is a light weekend, because there are a zillion races on Thanksgiving.

  • This Saturday, November 23rd is the next Stumptown XC race. This one is at Fernhill Park and is $15.
  • You can also run in the free weekly ParkRun 5k. You have to register online and show your bar code on your phone to participate, but it’s totally free. With a nice late 9a start time, what’s your reason not to try it some Saturday?
  • On Sunday this week is the Run to Stay Warm in Eugene, and if you sign up before the 21st, you’ll still save a little money. Through the 20th, the half is $80, the 10k is $45, and the 5k is $40. This race raises funds for EWEB customers who need a little help with utility bills in the winter.
  • There’s a Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 30: The Gold Beach Rotary Turkey Trot. This 5k offers a registration price of at least 2 non-perishable food items.
  • The PRC Winter 5k Series is BACK! The races this series are on December 14, January 11, and February 15 from the PRC in Beaverton. The series is $99 when you sign up for all 3 or $39 if you sign up for just individual races.

Turkey Trots – All these races are on Thursday, November 28:

  • The Murrayhill 5k (Beaverton) is $15, with free registration for kids 8 and younger.
  • FootZone Bend’s I Like Pie run registration is 5 lb of non-perishable food, to be donated to the local food bank.
  • The Moore Park Turkey Trot 5k in Klamath Falls is free with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots, or of non-perishable food for the food bank.
  • The Turkey Trot in Mosier (formerly the Twin Tunnels Run) is only $15. There are 3k, 5k, and 12k options.
  • Your $25 registration for the Redmond Turkey Trot 5k/10k comes with an all-day lift ticket at Hoodoo! This is only for people who sign up online before the race.
  • Springfield’s Turkey Stuffer 5k is only $20 if you sign up by 11/25.
  • The Run’ucopia in Salem is only $18 for your choice of 5k, 10k, or 15k.

Price Bumps and such:

  • The price for the Deschutes River Half Marathon on January 1 goes up on November 30 from $65 to $75.
  • The Worst Day of the Year Run is only $29 if you sign up this month. The price will go up 12/1 to $34. The race is at Edgefield on February 1.
  • Registration for the My Muddy Valentine will open up on 12/1. There’s a 5k for $60 and a 10k for $70 for this Terrapin Race. The race is on February 15 at Lee Farms in Tualatin.
About Kelly Barten (1082 Articles)
I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
