Race Preview: 2019 Vernonia Ugly Sweater Run

The holiday season in November and December has so many opportunities to get together and celebrate with loved ones. It also can be an expensive time of year with a dinner out costing more than a week’s groceries. So instead of sitting around a fancy table in fancy clothes and getting a fancy bill (all those zeros), join in some pure, and cheap, fun in Vernonia.

And instead of being all fancy-schmancy, you can be fun and ugly.

For $20, just $10 for students, join in the Vernonia Ugly Sweater Run at Anderson Park on Saturday, December 14. The course is around Vernonia Lake, a flat and fast 5K that will be inviting for all of your friends and family. And personally, I’d much rather show off a cozy sweater than anything that requires high heels.

There are prizes for the best sweater and swag for all.
