This race is part of a 5k Run/Walk series, with one in the fall, one in the spring, and the Turkey Trot event scheduled on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th in Hood River.
There will be three distances to choose from when you sign up for the turkey trot: a 12k, a 5k, or a 3k. The race will start at 10:00AM at the Mark Hatfield State Park’s West Visitor Center. Runners will travel along the Historic Old Columbia River Highway’s Twin Tunnel trail on a paved road closed off to traffic. The route follows a “car-free course” in which runners will be treated to views of the Columbia River Gorge. After traveling into the City of Mosier, runners will finish their journey at the Mosier Community School.
Parking will be limited on race day, so registrants are encouraged to carpool. A state park pass will be required to park at the visitor’s center, so get more bang for your buck and fill your car with runners. A day pass can be purchased for $5.
This fundraiser for the School is only $15 a person or $20 on the day of the race. Kids under 18 will be only $5 or $10 on race day. Or if you want to get the whole family in on the fun, there is a family rate of $35 for two adults and all children in one household (pre-registered only.)
Pies will be awarded to the top finishers in every category. Yummy!!
