Race Preview: 2019 Reindeer Fun Run 5K/1K (Monmouth)

The second annual Reindeer Fun Run 5K and 1K will be held on Saturday, December 7th in Monmouth to kick off the Making Spirits Bright festivities! The event beneficiaries are Toys for Tots and Western Oregon University Community Food Pantry.

All on flat and paved surfaces, the race begins at the Main Street Park Amphitheater and will takes participants through the neighborhood and WOU campus. The 5K racers will start the day and the 1K will follow shortly thereafter. This is a family-friendly event, and all ages and abilities are welcome! Team spirit is encouraged with team names and costumes and an award for Most Spirited will be given: strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs can be decorated to help your team win!

Following the events, the celebration continues from 10AM -2PM in park. There will be a chili cook-off, holiday bazaar, live music, kids craft corner, and more! Feel free to stroll through downtown as well, as business will have decorated storefronts in competition for the Griswold Award (vote for your favorite!). If you plan to stay in town, Main Street Park will be lit up with Santa’s Workshop and Gingerbread village at dusk.
