Race Preview: 2019 Grants Pass Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k/1M

In 2018, The Grants Pass Half Marathon added a Full Marathon to the agenda, and this year, it’s back! Come out on Saturday, October 26 th to join your running community for the 2019 Grants Pass Marathon/Half Marathon/10k/5k/1M. There’s also a kid’s race with a costume theme, and all runners are encouraged to dress in costume on this Halloween weekend!

Fall is a beautiful time of year in the Pacific NW and the scenery of Grants Pass should not disappoint. This race takes place mostly parallel to the Rouge River with breathtaking views of the Siskiyou Mountain Range. The route is mostly flat with some rolling hills on a well-known road often used for a bike route. The half and full marathon will have a slight incline up the Azalea route before the turnaround point with views of the farms, a nature preserve and a corn maize. Check out the course info for all the distances here.

The race begins at Tussing Park. You’ll run over the foot bridge through Reinhart Volunteer Park. Aid stations will be out on the course and will be stocked with Hammer gels and water. The final aid station will have some other food options, such as fruit.

Packet pick up will be on race morning only. You can pick up your race packet or register the day of the event from 6:45AM until approximately 15 minutes until race start. Walkers will be welcome to start the race at 7:30AM. The Full and Half Marathon will start at 8:00AM, as well as the 10k and 5k, though there may be a late game decision to stagger the races a bit depending on the volume of participants. The kid’s race through the park will begin at 11:00AM.

This event should be a lot of fun, so come out and show some support for the Grants Pass Cross Country Team and the Ashland YMCA Come Camp Low Echo Fund.
