Race Preview: 2019 Monster Dash Run for Education 10K/5K/1M (Ashland)

The 11th annual Monster Dash Run for Education, hosted by the Yogurt Hut, the Ashland Kiwanis, and the Ashland Schools Foundation (the beneficiary), will be held on Saturday, October 26th. Pick your distance of choice from a 10K run, 5K run/walk, or a 1-mile fun run – costumes are encouraged! All events are chip-timed and the courses for all three distances follow the perimeter of Lithia Park, a beautiful 93 acre park in downtown Ashland. They are out and back courses that begin/end above the intersection of Nutley and Winburn Way just below the band shell. The out and back course will allow you to see other runners’ costumes…and for them to see yours! Strollers are welcome but unfortunately Lithia Park is not dog-friendly, so please leave the 4-legged family members home.

The evening before, Friday 10/25, there will be a pre-race Monster Ball at the Historic Ashland Armory from 5:00-8:00pm ($2 entry fee at the door). Runners and non-runners are welcome to enjoy a pasta dinner, a silent auction, and entertainment for a fun, family evening. There will be a “monstrous music mix”, a Costume Contest on stage, a photo booth, and lots of activity booths for kids! For those 21+, there will beer and wine available to purchase as well.
