Race Preview: 2019 Race to the Bar (Warrenton)

To paraphrase a classic line from Jerry McGuire, “You had me at beach.”

Race to the Bar has two course options for runners and walkers, and yes, both involve the beach. The 5K and 10K courses both start at the Peter Iredale Shipwreck and follow an out-and-back course on hard sand, with the longer distance getting to the South Jetty before returning.

With the event starting at 5pm, this is a great event for the whole family to be involved in. And then for the group to stick around for an evening on the sand. Participants receive a t-shirt as part of registration, and the after party includes Subway sandwiches and fruit. Plus, Fort George beer for the 21 and over participants.

Bonfire. Beach. Music. Beach. Running. Beach. Sunset. Beach.

What more do you need for a Saturday evening in September?
