Race Preview: 2019 Cottage Grove Half Marathon

One of my favorite races in 2018 was the Cottage Grove Half! I knew last year I would be back for 2019 too! I’ll be lining up with other runners (and walkers) on Saturday September 14th on the Row River Trail behind Dorena School. This is a scenic course on a paved trail-head with a gentle net loss of over 200ft over the 13.1 miles. The greenery is calming and running along Dorena Lake is beautiful. A bonus, it’s a fast course and if you trained through the summer, that cooler temperatures in September also helps for a faster time! The full half course can be found here.

If you’re planning to run (or walk) the 10k, you’ll be starting at Bohemia Park in Cottage Grove. You will simply do an out and back on the Row River Trail to Mosby Creek and back. The 10k map can be found here.

The Cottage Grove Half Marathon was formed to provide an opportunity for local community members and the larger region to enjoy the Row River Trail for a fast point to point half marathon and out and back 10K . In addition, the event serves to fund-raise for local groups such as the Cottage Grove Track and Swim teams and Dorena School parent club. In 2019 the event will also contribute to the upcoming Cottage Grove Armory restoration project as well.
Getting healthy and active locally and welcoming visitors to the wonderful community of Cottage Grove for a fun time during and after the event.
