Race Preview: 2019 Circle the Bay 30K (North Bend)

The Coos Bay waterfront is the heart of this quaint coastal town. It features store fronts, restaurants and opportunities to just take in the natural beauty that provides a spectacular backdrop to this southern Oregon local.  The Circle the Bay 30K can be run as an individual or as a 3-person relay team.

This is a challenging course, running from Ferry Road Park in North Bend and along the Coos Bay Waterfront. The course finishes back at Ferry Road Park. If you are running as a part of a relay, the first leg is relatively flat. The second leg of the relay includes rolling hills, and the third, is only for the hill-lover on your team. There will be water available at each exchange  (approximately every 6 miles) for both relay and individual runners.

This race is organized by the South Coast Running Club. With a focus on community, fun, and affordability, the South Coast Running Club is an important part of active life in the area around Coos Bay. They describe themselves as a “welcoming, open group of people who enjoy running”.

After the race, runners, and their supportive fans, as well as all volunteers, are encouraged to enjoy the food and drinks available at the post-race party. This is when the hand-crafted medals will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group.

Day-of registration and packet pick up are from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at Ferry Road Park.
