Small Race Preview: 2019 Portland Parks & Recreation 5K Series – Pier Park on July 14

The July race in the Portland Parks & Recreation’s 5k Series will be on Sunday, July 14th in North Portland’s Pier Park.

The races in this awesome series are a great deal (only $10 for an adult registration!) and are set up for serious racers, casual joggers, walkers, and a smaller race for kiddos as well. Often featuring loops of local parks, it’s a great way to spend a morning in your community (or venturing to a new one!) and giving back to Portland Parks & Rec.

*All* finishers receive a ribbon, and there are usually family-friends activities such as face painting, crafts, vendors, music, raffles, and “SO SO many bananas”!

Be sure to check out their Facebook page for more info!

About Bobi Jo (201 Articles)
Bobi Jo has lived all over the midwest but moved to Portland in 2007 and now calls it home. She started casually running in 2012 and trained up for the "Run Like A Mother" 5k as her first proper event. She got a taste of the runner's high and is now a veteran ultrarunner. While running is her favorite sport, she is a "Jill of all trades, master of none" - her other hobbies include rock climbing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. On her elusive rest days, she is an avid bookworm and a Green Bay Packers fan. Her best adventure buddies are her husband and her Australian Shepherd.
