Come out to beautiful Mingus Park in Coos Bay on July 4th for the 2019 Mayor’s Firecracker Run. This race is a great option for families with a free kid’s run and a 4k for the grown ups.
This summer holiday race, hosted by South Coast Running Club, is part of the Triple Crown Series. The kid’s run will start at 10:00AM and the 4k will take part after the kids are finished, around 10:20AM.The course is on sidewalks and trails, and there will be one challenging hill located within the park.
After the race, there will be a festival at the park, and there will be fireworks that evening for everyone to enjoy.
The cost of the race is only $10 for non-members of South Coast Running Club, and it’s free for members. Sign up now or make a game-day decision, as race day registration will be available from 9:00AM to 9:45AM.

Another option for a 4th of July race is the 2019 Neskowin 5k Runabout. Neskowin Golf Course will set the scene for the 8th annual event and it will begin at 7:30AM bright and early!
The course will take you on both an out and back and also on a loop on the streets of Neskowin. There’s one aid station on Hawk Street. The route will take you a tiny bit further than the typical 5k (just over 3.13 miles) but it’s a pretty flat journey. Check out the course for yourself here.
This race boasts music, awards, and snacks. Awesome shirts will also be available for only $10. If you register before June 15th, the cost of the race will only be $15. After this, the cost goes up to $20. You can also register on July 3rd from 7:00PM to 8:00PM at the golf course for $25.
