Race Preview: 2019 Dirty Half Marathon (Bend)

Running in Central Oregon certainly has its perks. The air is cleaner, the elevation is real and the races are some of the most fun anywhere. The Dirty Half marathon is one such race that has nearly turned into an all day event. Super Dave Thomason of SuperFit Productions has really made a name for himself in the Bend area, with events that focus more on the fun and the atmosphere of the day, instead of just the race itself. The Dirty Half is no exception, with a band playing and beer flowing when you finish.

Having run this twice, the allure is also the great course, which has just over 1,000 feet of gain and is predominantly single track. Racing among the pines of the Phil’s Trail system, the iconic nature of the high desert is not lost as you make your way up and down again. The race is always limited to 500 runners and typically sells out every year, although not until about a week before race day.

When: Sunday, June 9th. Wave 1 (of 3) starts at 7:00am.

Cost/Registration: $50.00 (add $20 for a shirt). Register online here.
