Race Preview: 2019 Alien Abduction Dash 5K (McMinnville)

With a slightly more odd theme than most, the Alien Abduction Dash 5K occurs during the Alien Days festival in my hometown of McMinnville, Oregon. The race is on Saturday May 18th, 9 am at Linfield College.

Registration is open, at $25. The course is going over the Linfield Wellness trail, a bark dust path. There are only a few turns and no real noticeable elevation changes. The official start location is at the corner of Lever Street and Wildcat Circle. All finishers will receive a medal and there will be prizes for the top finishers in each age group.

The event is a fun, low key race, with costumes encouraged. For those who do not live in the area, I recommend stopping by one of our many local breakfast joints and stick around for the parade. It is quite entertaining, every year. The run itself can be a family affair, as the course is nearly completely free of traffic and off the roads.
