This coming April 28th, marks the date of the Royal 5th year anniversary of Blooms to Brews. With race options of a full marathon, marathon relay, half marathon, 10K and 5K, there is surely a distance for everyone. And that royal anniversary means that all ladies who register will receive a finisher’s tiara!
But, in all honesty the thing that drew me to this race, was the flatness of the course and location. And with a name of Blooms to Brews, I am sure you can guess the scenery and beverages will be pretty amazing too!
The race will take place in Woodland Washington (only 28 miles north of Portland), at Horseshoe Lake Park. This is both the start and finish location of the race. The fast- flat course will offer some breathtaking views of the Columbia and Lewis Rivers, as well as views of tulips and lilacs (which will be in full bloom).
The marathon‘s course is rated one of the flattest and most scenic USATF marathons in the country. This is also a Boston Qualifying race. The race beings at 6:45 am and has a 7 hour course cut off time (due to the partially closed roads during the race). There are 10 water stations throughout the course, which will have water, Gatorade and fuel.
There is also an option for those participants who ran Boston 2019, who also are running Blooms to Brews, called the Boston to Blooms to Brews Challenge. For an additional $100, participants receive a jacket at the finish line, VIP Access and a challenge medal.
The Marathon Relay is offered for teams of 4, each member running around 6.5 miles. This also starts at 6:45 am and will race alongside the marathon participants. Exchange points are well marked and busses will take relay runners to their dedicated starting point.
The half marathon starts promptly at 7:30 am. Runners and walkers will have 4 hours to complete and the course will be on partially closed roads. After the 4 hours, participants are instructed to follow normal rules of the roads, as the streets will be open to the public. On the course, full support from medical, volunteers, flaggers and police offers will be available.
The 10K will start at 8:00 am and the 5K at 8:30 am.
All participants will receive a finishers medal, quality dri-fit tank, chip timing, virtual goody bag, food, a beer, and DJ at the post-party. There are also overall and age group awards offered for the fastest racers. Come join the celebration, for this years 5th annual Blooms to Brews. With amazing swag, beautiful medals, a scenic and flat course, and a killer post race party, this race surely has something for everyone!
