The slogan for the 2019 Embrace the Ruck race is “If it Ain’t Raining It Ain’t Real Training.” If you want a unique twist on Adventure Running, this 4-Mile circuit in Lebanon might be what you need. All the proceeds will be split between the NW Military Medical Student Association (MMSA) which supports students under military medical scholarships who will be going back on active duty when their medical education is complete and the Gary Sinise Foundation, a non-profit charity that supports veterans. Your money will go to some great causes!
Runners will compete in a ruck for this event, and will be placed on one of four United States Armed Forces teams: Army, Navy, Air Force, or the Marines. You’ll need to bring your own backpack and weights. You can carry 20 lbs, 40 lbs, or 60 lbs in your backpacks and this will determine your weight class. The average time amongst your team will determine the results of your race. Anyone that chooses to use the heavier ruck will get bonuses to their times to encourage people to dig deep and challenge themselves!
The cost of this Eclectic Edge Racing event is $45 and includes a shirt which will be color-coordinated to whichever military branch you choose to support. The cost is only $25 if you are a veteran or a high school student.
Come to the race and see how tough you are and support our military while you’re at it.
