Race Preview: 2019 Run to Get Lucky (Corvallis)

The 8th annual Run to Get Lucky takes place in Corvallis on the afternoon of Saturday, March 16th. Participants have a choice between a 15k, 5k, 1-mile or 1k, as well as a beer mile relay. All distances are out and back courses that start and end in front of Cloud and Kelly’s Public House on 1st Street.

The course is flat and fast, and runners and walkers will spend most of their time on multi-use paths in public parks along the river, except for about half a mile in the 15k to get people from one park to the other. The 1k/1mile family run/walk starts first at 12:30pm, followed by the 15k runners at 1pm. (Walkers have the option to start their 15k at 12:30pm.) The 5k comes next at 1:30pm, and finally at 5pm starts the Beer/Cider mile relay. The timing of the different races could allow a person to participate in more than one event!

At the finish, participants will receive a finisher’s pint glass, which they can bring into the heated party tent in front of Cloud and Kelly’s for a free drink (ID required for alcoholic drinks). In addition to the Irish post-race party, awards will be given to the top 3 finishers overall and in age groups for the 5k and 15k. Dress up in your St Patrick’s Day finest to take part in the costume contest as well!
