Gorgeous Hood to Hood Relay
Sunday, June 9th, 2019
by Kerry Loehr, Gorgeous Series Co-Director

Arguably the most Gorgeous course in our whole series! The day begins Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. Teammates will either love, or pass on, running Leg 1, which drops 2000 feet from Timberline to Government Camp. The Gorgeous course then takes a left and heads East towards Hood River, OR. The scenery around the mountain is awe-inspiring, with the view from Exchange 2 at White River Snow Park showcasing the summit of snow-capped Mt. Hood.  Continuing on through the pines and firs and over the rivers, runners travel up to the Cooper Spur Resort.

The climb is so worth it when teams next run down to the Parkdale area full of wide open orchards, and views of Mt. Adams. Runners finish by winding down the Historic Old Columbia River Highway, through downtown Hood River, and into Waterfront Park on the banks of the mighty Columbia River!

Teams of up to 6 Gorgeous runners (you can run it with less) tackle 12 legs spanning the 54 mile Gorgeous course.  The Gorgeous Finish Party offers only the best, with a free full pint of pFriem beer (or Humm kombucha), a Gorgeous pint glass, a Gorgeous t-shirt, and a unique Gorgeous medal. AND, we’re proud to once again partner with the Mazamas Mountain Science School – providing an outdoor learning opportunity for 4th-6th grade students at the base of Mt. Hood.

So, what are you waiting for? Round up a friend or two, or five, and register now! Or be really Gorgeous and run the whole relay yourself. Go to www.gorgeousseries to sign up.

Still not sure? We also do FREE monthly pub runs (3 and 5 mile options) to showcase pub partners, get a little training in, and raffle off Gorgeous Prizes afterward. Here is a link to our February Gorgeous Pub Run (Weds. 2/27, 6:30pm) from McMenamins Kennedy School.

See all you Gorgeous Runners soon!
