Small Race Preview: 2019 Run Your Tutu Off 5k (Corvallis)

Nearly every race these days features at least one beautiful soul wearing a tutu. It’s always the best, to know someone is committed enough to run with their layers of tulle, spirit-lifting pinks and purples bouncing along mile after mile. I always make a mental note to invest in a tutu I can run in and invariably forget when my next race day approaches. For all you tutu-wearers and wannabe tutu-wearers, this is the run for you!

Matt ran this a few years back and had this to say:

For being a small race with an RD who puts on this race once per year, there was some fantastic RD-ing going on:

  • The race started exactly on time

  • The course was almost exactly 3.11 miles (my GPS said 3.12 at the finish)

  • Raffle winners were notified immediately after crossing the finish (I won a Stainless Steel Thermos tumbler and a $10 Sports Authority gift card)

  • There was a local soup vendor on site for post-race food in addition to the standard fruit and bagel faire. There was also a bowl of great snacks for kids – which my picky daughters were super thankful for.

The 7th annual Run Your Tutu Off 5k will be on Saturday, February 16th at Crystal Lake Park in Corvallis. It is a family (and dog!) friendly environment to benefit Beds for Kids by Furniture Share – a non-profit that collects and redistributes donated furniture and household items at no cost to children, families, and individuals in need in the area.

The course is described as “easy, paved, with no hills” so come with your favorite tutu and get your PR in early!
