According to Pat Benatar, “Love is a Battlefield.” According to the Beatles, “All You Need is Love.” And according to Anna and Hans (aka two characters from Frozen), “Love is an Open Door.”

No matter which of these philosophies you connect with, one thing I believe is that running is always more fun when you do it with someone you love. And the Sweetheart Run in Sweet Home this February is a great chance to do just that. For this event, bring along all your sweethearts for the kids run, 5K, or 10K options.

Runners and walkers are encouraged to dress up and wear their hearts on their sleeves, socks, tutus, onesies, collars, and wherever else a heart can fit. The course is updated from last year due to some rain effects, but will still include travel through city streets, neighborhood sidewalks, and forest trails. The 10K course includes the 5K loop, plus an out-and-back to get in those extra miles.

Proceeds from the event go toward Sweet Heart Parks and Recreation programs. So that you and your sweethearts will have community programs all year round. Ain’t that sweet?
