This year will be the 40th anniversary of the Lampson Cable Bridge Run. This multi-city event starts in Kennewick, WA then crosses the Columbia River and ends in Pasco, WA. This event includes a 5K, 10K, and a new 1 mile fun run this year. Regardless of which distance you choose, all races will run over the Lampson Cable Bridge and enjoy views of the Columbia River.
Santa will start the races at 9:00 A.M. and the first 2000 finishers will receive a commemorative 40th year finishers medal. When registering you can purchase a cotton/poly long-sleeved shirt for $7 or a long-sleeved tech shirt for $9. There are also jackets, hats, beanies, and other shirts available the the Lampson Cable Bridge Run online store.
Since this is a point to point race, participants should park at the Benton County Fairgrounds and take the shuttle to the start line. All races will end at the Lampson warehouse in Pasco, where you can warm up with Hot Doctor Pepper. I’m not even sure what to think of that post-race beverage! But, I’m thinking you need to check out this race – if not for the scenic routes, then definitely for the Hot Doctor Pepper!
