In their description of the Frozen Trail Run Fest, race organizers make it clear that this is a challenging event that is also, somehow, a lot of fun. Level 32 Racing has organized multiple distance options for athletes to take part in on Saturday December 8th. And covered the parking cost to take away that excuse from an adventure.
Runners have options ranging from a 5K, up through 15K, 25K, and 50K distance options. The longer three events are all multiple loops of the same course, which provides good access to aid stations and drop bags as needed. But every distance promises to be a challenge: the 5K includes a mid-race mountain climb. Did I mention that it’s a challenging event?
And just in case you aren’t believing me yet, remember that our Pacific Northwest weather in December often includes a mix of rain and frosty cold. So you can expect muddy conditions on the flat sections to give you variety from the gravel and trails.
But not to worry. Along with the challenges is lots of promised fun, including well-stocked aid stations and a chance to win free Altra shoes. Check out the video below to view the beautiful course from a few years ago, and all the happy faces of the participants. Challenge and fun. Are you in?
