Race Preview: 2018 Oxbow Races (Gresham)

I love looking at local trail races and stalking Ultrasignup.com. Recently I came across Oxbow Races and was immediately intrigued. For one, it was local and two, the description of the race had me drawn in and chuckling to myself the whole time. Reading it, I felt like the race director, Anthony Bucci, and I could be friends.

So what are the Oxbow Races? It is a 10K and 8 mile race that is all trails running through beautiful forest along the Sandy River in Gresham, OR. The race promises to be challenging and lacking in unicorns and fairies, but it does have 1,000 feet elevation gain in the 8 mile race and about 500 in the 10K which is almost as good as unicorns and fairies.

The race will have a prize for the overall winner and random prizes from awesome sponsors for other participants. Also, it should be mentioned that no pets are allowed at the race but if you ask the race director, he will show you a picture of his dog. This race is also cupless, so make sure you bring your own water carrying devices.

To be honest, this race sounds awesome. It is the first year it is happening and I think we should all go out and run it!
