We as runners should always remember how lucky we are to get the chance to lace up our shoes and get out there and run. The 2018 Condor 25k Trail Run honors Dave ‘Condor’ Bateham who was a beloved long distance runner who passed away due to heart surgery complications. All of those he left behind honor him by running this race and feel fortunate to still be able to do what he no longer can’t.
This year, the 7th annual race will be on Sunday October 7th at 9:00AM and it will start and finish at the OSU Forestry Cabin at Peavy Arboretum. The course takes hilly single track trails and logging roads all throughout McDonald Forest and there is a section that is dubbed “Dave’s Trail.” There will be 3 aid stations along the course and you can check out the course via Garmin here.
Proceeds from the race will go to the OSU Research Forest fund which supports construction and maintenance of trails. The $50 registration fee will get you entry to the race and some socks while supplies last. Day of race registration is available for an extra $5.
