Race Preview: 2018 Twisted Pine Run (Newport)

The Twisted Pine Run will take place Saturday, September 15th in Newport. This half marathon and 5 miler races offer just about everything you are looking for in a race. With single track trails, flat paved roads, and a beach run, could you ask for anything more…? I forgot to mention the course also has the most beautiful scenery and views of the Yaquina Bay, and Pacific Ocean. This course is definitely one for the record books for scenery.
Runners will run under the Yaquina Bay Bridge, home to the most photographed bridge in Oregon. Both the half marathon and 5 miler races are held at South Beach State Park in Newport OR. They are both flat and very fast. The 5 miler course will feature 1 mile of pavement, 1/2 mile of beach/ sand run, and the remaining distance of single track trail. The half marathon will include the 5 miler course, while having the remaining distances on a flat and fast pavement route.
Free camping is available to the first 75 participants to register. This will be at the start/finish line, first come, first serve. There are also two group campsites available of up to 50 people. Check in is 9/14 at 4:00pm
