Race Preview: 2018 Charleston Salmon Run

October is the month for Oregon Coast races! School is back in session, and its time to put that summer training to work. One of the most gorgeous Oregon Coast races takes place in the small coastal town of Charleston – the Charleson Salmon Run.

All distances begin and end in this little town, with scenic routes along the rugged coastline, and sandy beaches. There is a distance for everyone here, full 26.2 marathon, this year featuring a new course that gives you more ocean views, including Cape Arago, with the largest head of seals and sea lions. The 13.1 course takes you along Sunset Bay State park, and Cape Arago. The 10k features passing through the beautiful Bastendorff Beach. A 1 mile distance is perfect for all ages, and leads you through the historic Charleston Marina.

The city of Charleston is likely not close to most of us, so check out this info for planning your trip. This gorgeous race benefits Octoberfish, Charleston Community Enhancement Corporation, and Relay For Life.
