Race Preview: 2018 Friends of Mt. Tabor Tar ‘n Trail Run (Portland)

Every single time I run or walk around Mt. Tabor Park a question comes to mind: Why don’t I do this more often?

Mt. Tabor Park is a beautiful park in SE Portland, and has trails that can keep you lost for hours (in a good way). All of that beauty is in part thanks to The Friends of Mt. Tabor Park, a non-profit group dedicated to park maintenance and improvement. The group has over 200 members who donate time and money for this urban oasis.

You can help their work, and enjoy the park, by participating in the 5K or 10K option in the Friends of Mt. Tabor Tar ‘n Trail Run. Both events utilize park trails for a combination of paved roads and dirt trails. And it’s an open course so you’ll be exercising alongside regular users of the park space. Those embarking on the 10K will also experience all 95 stairs of the park (so maybe add a little extra training this fall). After traveling through the park, finishers will enjoy post-race food from New Seasons.
