Race Preview: 2018 Moore Mountain Trail Run (30K, half marathon, 5K) in Klamath Falls

Do you like running? Do you like movies? Do you like movies about running? If so, the two-day Moore Mountain Trail Run & Trails in Motion Movie Festival in Klamath Falls is tailor-made for you. You’ll start the weekend of September 1 with a festival of films about trail running and ultra running, and then the next morning, you have your choice of a 30K, half marathon, or 5K.

It sounds like a gorgeous route: “Over 80% of the course consists of high quality single track and includes sweeping views of Upper Klamath Lake and Mt. Shasta.” The course routes look like a lot of switchbacks with some elevation change, but judging by the winning time in the 30K last year (2:13:11), it can’t be too steep.

Course support includes plenty of aid stations, some as close as 1 mile apart. (The furthest apart is 3.5 miles, but most are 2 miles or nearer.) Most stations will have – besides water – soda, chips, pretzels, watermelon, bananas, and some gels.
