If you’ve ever wanted to compete in a full or half Iron-distance triathlon but don’t have the time to train or you’re undecided, you should consider the 2018 Triumph Iron Relay on August 24th through the 26th in Corvallis Oregon. Hosted by the Corvallis Triathlon Club this one of a kind triathlon is a great way to for families, friends, age-groupers, and hard-core athletes to enjoy a weekend-long multi-sport relay event.
The Triumph Iron Relay covers the distance of a full or half Iron-distance triathlon, however it is broken up over a weekend into a relay. Each leg concludes with a social event at a different venue. The swim is at Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis, the bike is at Emerson Vineyards in Monmouth, and the run is at Brandis Farms in Corvallis. Complimentary camping is available for racers and their families at Brandis Farms Friday August 24th through Monday August 26th.
Participants may complete any portion of the event distance, from a single individual completing the entire race, to a team of up to 10 individuals with a maximum of 5 on any given leg of the event. By the conclusion of the weekend, each team has completed the equivalent of an Iron or half-Iron distance triathlon.
