Coming up this August is a great chance to have some fun, get in some steps, and help support safe places for youth in our community.
Chasing the Unicorn II: Electric Boogaloo is a charity run / walk event with proceeds going to The Living Room: “an organization whose mission for the last 8 years has been to provide a safe, healthy, and empowering space for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies to connect with one another and resources in Oregon.” After years working with students, I know how critical it is for them to have safe places where they can ask questions and feel encouraged while figuring out how to live in our complex world.
Along with having a good cause, this is also shaping up to be a really fun event. Race leaders have planned a costume contest at 11am and celebration activities before, during, and after the run/walk.
So find your inner unicorn and sign up for this 5K extravaganza.
