Race Preview: 2018 Sean’s Run for ARROAutism 5K/10K (Cascade Locks)

There are so many things to love about this race: it’s for a great cause, it’s in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, it’s family friendly, and this year, through special permit, it will be on trails currently closed to the public due to the Eagle Creek fire.

Sean’s Run for ARROAutism will be held on Saturday, August 18th. This event is an annual fundraising 5K run/walk and 10K run to benefit Autism Research and Resources of Oregon (ARROAutism). Their website states:

The Autism Research & Resources of Oregon (ARROAutism) is a not -for-profit organization located in Oregon. We assist with Autism research projects in Oregon, develop resources to meet unmet needs for families and individuals with Autism in Oregon, and assist families and individuals with Autism to locate already existing resources that meet their needs.

ARROAutism’s long term goal is the development of the Oregon Autism Center where we will bring together a wide variety of organizations, agencies, professionals, and projects to provide the families and individuals with Autism in Oregon access to resources that encourage and promote their integration in their community, and improve their quality of life.

This year’s event will start at the Bridge of The Gods trailhead in Cascade Locks. Through a special permit from the State Parks Department, the course will temporarily open and use the trail for our event, which is otherwise closed to the public due ongoing repairs from the Eagle Creek fire.

You can read more about the event and ARRO on their website or Facebook page as well!
