Matt & Marilyn’s 2018 Guide to Running and Drinking

Advertisements

Within the past year or so, there has been some increased writing about beer and wine on the pages of Run Oregon. While this comes from Matt’s constant pursuit of visiting every brewery in America (he has been to over 400) and the increase of events showcasing Oregon’s bounty of the nectar of the gods, it only makes sense. You can read about beer and wine in Matt’s Kegs & Legs features.

Even though Marilyn has left Run Oregon from blogging, we still remain close and decided to do an updated feature. Here’s a little bit from her:

Hey, Run Oregon readers—it’s good to be back for a guest post! I bowed out of the running scene in late 2015 after getting hit by a car while out on a run, and I’ve spent the last few years focusing on recovery and strengthening my body through Barre3. I became an instructor at Barre3 Felida in Vancouver, WA a little over a year ago and LOVE helping people feel empowered in their own bodies. While I don’t get the mileage that I used to, I still love to try new beers and log them on Untappd.

You can follow them on Untappd.

Beer of Choice:
Matt – Still IPA’s, but have been into the “haze craze” lately these past few months. Also, if I find a Porter on Nitro, consider me sold.
Marilyn – Any beer I haven’t tried yet, especially if it’s limited edition.

We also went through our calendar and highlighted some great races and running events around the area that showcase or highlight beer. Many professional race companies and races offer a post-race beer or two from a local brewery (i.e. Run Wild Adventures and Seven Brides Brewing, Shamrock Run and Widmer, etc), so we aren’t listing all of those here.
