The 6th annual Shriner’s Run for a Child 5K and 10K will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the ever-gorgeous Riverbend Park in Bend.
The 5K and 10K “Run for A Child” was created to let families know that the Shriners are active in Central Oregon in the hopes of finding more local children who could benefit from the services the Shriners Hospital for Children-Portland provide. We have created a “ Shriners Day in Central Oregon” where families could come, participate in a run/walk for an outstanding cause, and then enjoy a BBQ hosted by the Central Oregon Shriner Club. Booths from our sponsors will be set up, along with kid’s activities, a beer garden, prizes and a silent auction to round out a complete morning of family fun.
The main purpose of all Shriners is to support the Shriners Hospitals for Children and to help identify and refer children who are in need. Children up to age 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children® and receive all services at no cost to the child or their family.
This event is great fun for everyone and is for a great cause – oftentimes, the kids who benefit are at the race, which makes it all the more worthwhile!
