If you’re looking to PR a half marathon, you want a course that’s flat or even downhill, and preferably straight. The Hoodoo Challenge is not that course. It’s the course for those who want to challenge themselves with a half marathon that has nearly 2000 feet in elevation gain, as it starts at the bottom and ends at the top of Hoodoo Butte near Sisters, Oregon.
If you like the idea of a race in the area but don’t want to tackle an uphill half marathon, there’s also a 5K course that stays at the bottom.
Race day is Saturday, July 28, starting at 8 am. Race fee gets you entry to the race, race socks, and a 2-for-1 lift ticket voucher for Hoodoo; there;s also a race shirt and a race hat available for separate purchase. And the top male and female half marathon finishers get a season pass to Hoodoo. (Woo hoo!)
The race is put on by the Sisters Kiwanis Club, and all net proceeds go to local charities.
