Get your run on for the 4th of July this year at the 2018 Ashland 4th of July Run in Ashland, OR. This race dates all the way back to the 1970’s and is the 3rd oldest annual race in Southern Oregon. You have two options, depending on what you are looking for. There’s a 10k race if you’re looking to join local and visiting competitors for a run or a 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk which is a great family-friendly distance that welcomes strollers.
Both distances will start at 7:45AM near the Ashland Library at the corner of 3rd and Gresham Street and both will prove to be scenic and on closed roadways. The 10k will venture along the Beer Creek Greenway, and you can check out the course map here for both races.
This race, hosted by the Ashland Parks and Recreation Department, is a fundraiser for the Ashland and Phoenix High School Cross Country teams. The cost for either distance is $20 for adults and $10 for youth 12 & under. You can also purchase a t-shirt when you register for $10, but be sure to do so by June 8th.
The race will be followed by a jet flyout and a 4th of July parade which wraps around downtown Ashland and lasts over an hour. Lithia Park will have lots of booths to visit as well.
