Part of the annual Blooms and Butterflies event in Elkton, Oregon, is the 5K Butterfly Run! The course starts at ECEC’s Native Plant Park, follows River Road through town with scenic views of the Umpqua River, crosses Elk Creek, and ends back at ECEC. In addition to Top Finishers awards, the most creatively clad butterfly runner will be crowned! There is a Free Kid’s Race for youth 10 and under before the race begins. Don’t forget to check out the butterflies at the Butterfly Pavillion!

Since 1953, the City of Rogue River has held the national Rooster Crow contest. The contest has grown into a full weekend community event which even includes a car show.. No ROOSTER? No problem. You can participate on your own in the Human Crow Contest! BUT FIRST – to start off the weekend festivities, there is a Rooster Crow Fun Run/Walk around town!
Entries are accepted the day of the event.
