Klamath Falls Small Race Previews: 2018 Run Moore! High Desert Hospice Foundation 5k & Linkville Trail Running Series

It’s the second year of the Run Moore! High Desert Hospice Foundation 5k/Kid’s Run! The proceeds from this run goes to a wonderful charity, The High Desert Hospice Foundation, which is a wonderful organization that provides financial aid to hospice patients and their families.

The race will be held on May 5th and will take place at Moore Park in Klamath Falls. The course is described as “mild to moderate in incline and terrain” and you’ll have the beauty of the Klamath Basin to keep you occupied. The 5k is a walk/run and the kid’s race will be around 1 mile in distance.

The top 5 finishers will receive a prize, so come and see what it’s all about!

Another great opportunity for a Klamath Falls runner would be joining the Linkville Lopers, a casual running/walking club that’s part of the Road Runners Club of America, for their spring trail running series! The 2018 Linkville Trail Running Series is in the Klamath Basin area and it’s beginning in April, so get those trail shoes laced up!

Each race in the series is only $5 or you can pay $20 for a series pass. The first race in the series is a 5k which will begin on April 15th at Moore Park. There will be 6 races in the series, each on Sunday at 5:30PM, with the mileage progressing 1k each week. The runs will all range from flat to hilly, so be prepared for anything! This will be a great opportunity if you are new to trail running or just starting again.

The better you place in the series, the more points you’ll accumulate. The more points you get, the better your chance of winning some great prizes (running shoes, clothes, hydration gear, yoga classes, nutrition, etc.) This event also benefits a great cause, as the proceeds go to the Klamath Trails Alliance, Friends of Moore Park, and Linkville Lopers. There will be a no-host dinner to follow the last run in the series on May 20th and this is your chance to celebrate! Awards will also be presented at this dinner.

All races in the series will be at Moore Park except for the last race on May 20th, which will be at Spence Mountain. Please see the race calendar below:
